Can you be courageous without being vulnerable? For the longest time, I too believed that courage meant that you felt no fear. I also believed that expressing your emotions and what makes you feel anxious or scared, was a sign of weakness. Tough girls don’t show emotion, or perhaps don’t even have emotion to show. Because I have big emotions, big reactions to things that others barely bat an eyelid to, there is something weak and flawed about me. But here’s the truth – can you even be courageous without first feeling scared, exposed, anxious? Put the other way, if you feel no fear, uncertainty, or social exposure, does it take courage?
