Are you in looking for a doula in Atlanta?
Empowered.
Interconnected.
Mindful.
Those are the 3 qualities that I want for your birth.
Empowered
This is your day and will be one of the most remembered and relived day of your entire life. Having calm control, agency, and authority over your birth experience is crucial for ensuring that the memory you have is a positive one. As your doula, I am there to make sure that the control is always in your hands, that the dreams for your birth are protected, and that your, the birthing family’s, voice remains the most important voice in the room.
Interconnected
This experience is about you, your baby, and your spouse/partner. The relationships within the birthing room are precious and deserve to be valued, nurtured, and given the space to grow. These relationships include between you are your baby, your partner and baby, and between the two of you as a couple. As your doula, I strive to make room for each relationship to shine, authentically develop, and experience the birth within the context of your unique connection.
Mindful
Giving birth was the most primal, real, and powerful experience of my life. It was hard work, painful, and emotional, but it was never scary, overwhelming, or out of my control. I believe this to be due to my training and practice in mindfulness, which I intentionally brought into my birth. I allowed myself to feel, experience, and connect to all aspects of the process, from the sensations to the responses and reactions to them. As your doula, and as a trained mindfulness instructor, I am there to help bring this level of connection to your birth experience to you and your partner. I want you to be a part of every moment, intimately, consciously, and willingly.
Other birthing tools
Breath and Movement
As a yoga and meditation instructor, I understand the body and intelligently use breath and movement to help you through your birth experience.
Breath, used correctly, is very effective at helping you manage pain, find calm, stay grounded, and keep you focused and present.
Incorporating appropriate movement and positions will again help you to stay calm, guide baby down the birth canal, relax tense muscles, and ease labor pains.
As your doula, we will practice various breath techniques and birthing postures ahead of time so that you know where you are going and what works best for you when things heat up.
Prenatal Yoga
As your due date approaches, prenatal yoga can be very helpful in getting baby in the optimal birth position, helping you to stay strong and fit, improving your postnatal recovery, connecting you to your baby before they arrive, and keeping your feeling at peace and grounded.

Mantras
Mantras are short words or phrases, sometimes linked with breath, that are spoken repeatedly to improve focus, keep you centered, and enhance feelings of calm and control. When used in birth, mantras can be very effective.
As your doula, we will come up with mantras together that resonate with you and I will be there to remind you to use them and how best to incorporate them.
I was fortunate to have two incredibly positive birth experience that are locked in my mind with so much love. I want the same for you. Let me have the honor of being a part of your birth.
